A bit of a mixed stocking this week....

Sam Burrows entertained us for apres-ski yesterday with another brilliant acoustic set. Accompanied bya man who could make extraordinary drumming noises from just one box, we look forward to seeing them again next Monday and the Monday after and the Monday after.... you get the idea.

Wine tasting tonight will allow the more sophisticated amongst us and those who are merely pretending to swish some of France's finest around their mouths whilst nodding knowingly. All wines at house prices. Spit buckets are available on request but heavily frowned upon.

Christmas eve sees even more live music. (We know full-well we're spoiling you). 2 euros a Vin Chaud (pronounced 'vinn chod' by those less willing to speak the local dialect), mince pies and festive spirit galore.

Boxing day will leave even the least competetive amongst you quivering with antcipation as the barmen step up to the fore and challenge you to all manner of different tasks in order for you to have a cheaper night with free drinks on offer to the victors. You better get in training. Obviously you have no idea what we'll be doing, so that is going to be no mean feat.

On Saturday we've got quiz night. Bring your thinking caps. We'll provide the dunce hats where applicable.

If Carlsberg made Christmas weeks, they would pale in comparison to the one at the Bubble.....

Live music, Strictly Come Dancing AND Half Price Mutzig....

On Friday night (19th Dec) we've got guitar duo Fred and Adam coming in to play for us from 10pm. If live music's your bag, come stick your head round the door. They're pretty awesome.

If music of the televised and ballroom variety is more your thing, and you're wondering how you were possible planning on living without, Saturday sees the STRICTLY COME DANCING live final shown in the Bubble bar from 7-9pm. Kir Royales for the girls are €3 a pop. But fear not guys, we're all up for equality, MUTZIGS HALF PRICE. Also 7-9pm. Get ready for a big one. And guys, please keep your imitation cha-cha-ing to a minimum.

We've kicked off. And what a week it's been so far....

With 7 nights under our belt, we've had all sorts at the bubble already. To prepare Courchevel 1650 for our extensive wine-list, our wine tasting on Tuesday night saw even the most ardent Mutzig (french beer with a kick) fans swap their demis for their dry whites to sample what the bubble had to offer. At €2 a glass, who can really say no?

On Wednesday the official opening night meant our biggest one yet. 3 for the price of two on everything resulted in guests performing some increasingly dubious maths to get the maximum bang for their buck. Spare drinks rarely sat around for long, and it's safe to say after our opening night Le Bubble has every intention on being a big presence in 1650 this season.

We're nearly there...

After a busy summer, we're now putting the finishing touches to the bar. We should be all ready to open next week, on 11th December. A big thank you to Odge, Ian, Roger, Tom and Ashley for working so hard on refurbishing. The bar is looking great.
